In the aviation catering industry, even the smallest detail can have a critical impact. Foreign object control is therefore not only an operational requirement, but a fundamental commitment to ensuring passenger safety.
In response to the Foreign Object Contamination Awareness Campaign 2026 launched by Qatar Airways from February 15 to March 18, 2026, VINACS has proactively implemented a comprehensive, system-wide initiative. Our goal is to align awareness with execution across all functions, from administrative offices to production and operations.
The FOB Awareness Campaign 2026 is designed to strengthen the food safety culture of both Qatar Airways and VINACS, while reinforcing our shared commitment to a Zero Tolerance approach toward foreign objects.

A Structured Roadmap Toward “Zero Tolerance”

To ensure effective implementation and organization-wide engagement, VINACS has established a four-week roadmap:
- Week 1: Program launch, internal communications, and development of campaign materials, including slogan, posters, training materials, ….
- Week 2: Deployment of training sessions and pre-shift briefings across production areas.
- Week 3: Enhanced supervision, inspection activities, and compliance assessments.
- Week 4: Data consolidation, performance evaluation, and identification of sustainable improvements.
This structured methodology enables the translation of awareness into measurable actions while reinforcing long-term operational discipline.

Visual Communication – Memorable Messages, Immediate Action

A system of intuitive and easy-to-understand posters has been deployed, focusing on the primary sources of foreign objects:
- From People: Jewelry, personal items, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) violations.
- From Materials: Contamination from suppliers or damaged packaging.
- From Equipment & Facilities: Wear and tear or damage to machinery.
- From the Environment: Insects and external environmental factors.

Accompanying these visuals are clear action messages: strict compliance with PPE, organizing tools in their correct positions, proactive risk reporting during shifts, and rigorous material control from the outset.
These directives help employees internalize safety protocols and foster immediate reflexes in their daily tasks.

From Awareness to Practical Action

Beyond communication and training, the campaign is actively executed on the production floor with the full engagement of staff:
- Targeted training enhances employees’ understanding of foreign object risks at each stage of production.
- Metal detection procedures are reinforced to mitigate potential hazards.
- Incoming materials are subject to heightened inspection and control.
- Strict monitoring of PPE compliance and personal hygiene is maintained.

Every action, no matter how small, contributes to a closed-loop control system - ensuring that safety is maintained from the initial input to the final product delivered to passengers.
