February 6, 2022 - the first day of the Lunar New Year, the year of the Buffalo marked an unforgettable historical milestone of Vietnamese football when the women team with a 2-1 victory over Taiwan officially won the ticket for the first time to attend the biggest festival on the planet - the 2023 Women's World Cup final in Australia - New Zealand taking place from July-August 2023.

To come to the World Cup 2023 with 32 of the best women's teams on the planet, the Vietnamese women's team had to play against the strongest opponents in the continent at the AFC Women's Asian Cup - India 2022 such as: current champion Japan, South Korea and with other strong teams like China, Thailand, Myanmar, Taiwan. In addition to meeting strong opponents, the Vietnamese women's team also faced many difficulties, seemingly unable to compete due to a series of members infected with Covid-19, only 06 players could gather for the competition round in India on time. The team's training also encountered too many difficulties when the team only gathered enough personnel to practice exactly one day before the tournament started, sometimes only 5-6 players training on the ground; even just a few hours before the opening ceremony, the team could gather enough minimum members to participate in the tournament. Experiencing difficult, tough and challenging rounds, the Vietnamese women's team excellently passed the first round with strong teams such as Japan and Korea, passed the quarterfinals with the Chinese team, and especially the play-off round with a spectacular victory with both Thailand and Taiwan teams.
